DESCRIPTION:NOTE TO INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATES:\nSuccessful completion of the NRA Basics of Personal Protection Inside the Home is a prerequisite for the Instructor Course.   \nClass Overview:\nThe NRA’s Basics of Personal Protection Inside the Home class is meant to develop the basic knowledge\, skills & attitude essential to the safe & efficient use of a firearm for protection of self & family\, & to provide information on the law-abiding citizen’s right to self-defense. \nThis course is one full day & may be taken by law-abiding US citizens & legal\, permanent resident aliens\, as defined by applicable federal\, state &/or local law. \nPrerequisite:  This course is for experienced shooters who have an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certification\, NRA Pistol Competition Qualification course or current law enforcement. If you do not qualify under these guidelines\, please contact me to see if you qualify under other guidelines.   \nLessons in the NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home Course include: \nIntroduction to Defensive Shooting\nBasic Defensive Pistol Skills\nFirearms and the Law:  Possession\nOwnership & the Use of Deadly Force\nStrategies for Home Safety & Responding to a Violent Confrontation\nSelecting a Pistol for Self-Defense\nSport Shooting Activities & Training Opportunities \nYou will need to provide:\nPayment for class will be due at start of class. Cash or check only.\nA lunch\nEye & ear protection\nYour pistol (The NRA recommends a minimum of 9 mm for semi-auto or .38 Special for revolver.  But bring what you can shoot comfortably & reliably.)*\nYour Owner’s Manual (if you have one)\n200 Rounds of ammunition (minimum) * \nShooting exercises are conducted at an outdoor range.  Please dress appropriately.  Eye & ear protection is required. Hot brass can blister.  Flip-flops\, sandals & bare feet will not be allowed.  You must wear full-coverage shoes such as tennis shoes.
