NRA Instructor Weekend
The instructor weekend is three days learning how to teach NRA Basic Rifle and Basic
Pistol.
This course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing,
promoting, and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course and NRA’s Basic Rifle
Shooting course. The weekend comprises three parts: Basic Instructor Training (BIT) on
Friday and discipline-specific instructor training on Saturday and Sunday.
Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a requirement for
certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete
the NRA basic course in each discipline.
